Christmas Banner Plans

Inspired by this Christmas Table Runner I designed and made a few years ago, I decided - just yesterday - to make a banner to hang on our front door.

We usually have a wreath - but a wreath always gets squished by the storm door. So I figured a banner would be a good solution to the squished wreath problem.

So first came some sketching and figuring and math.  There is a star block in the middle of the table runner - so I am planning for one tree and the star at the top. Basically I am just making half of the table runner!

I pulled some fabric . . .

And did some cutting. That's always the least fun part. But by stacking up layers of fabric it goes more quickly.

Now I'm ready for sewing. And that is the most fun part.

Wonder if I can have it all completed by next week?

  1. Love the table runner...the idea for a banner is one I'm thinking of doing too for the same reason. Can't wait to see yours!
