Mixed Media Painting

mixed media painting sugarplumpatchwork.com

This week I am sharing this painting I did in a lesson by Deanna-Strachan-Wilson in the class The Art Of Sisterhood. It was a great lesson about painting a story from your life and I love her mixed media approach to creating a painting.

There is really something therapeutic (and so much fun!) about creating in mixed media and using an intuitive approach. I started with heavy watercolor paper and included acrylics, collage, pencil, colored pencil. I scraped and brushed and rubbed paint in with my fingers. Very therapeutic and tons of fun! This painting is about 12 x 16.

Thanks for reading and commenting! I hope you are having a creative week.  :)

I'd love to see what you have been up to.
