Bloggers Quilt Festival Fall 2015

I'm so excited to be participating in the Bloggers Quilt Festival at Amy's Creative Side. It's my first time to participate! All kinds of quilts are welcome and it so much fun to see all the quilts and "meet" all the blogging quilters.

I call this my Green and Gray quilt.

The design just sort of came into my head and I drew it out. I had to hunt around for awhile to find the right colors. I ended up ordering Kona in Coal and Chartreuse.

 I challenged myself to complete the back from the leftovers and scraps in my stash. My husband likes the back better than the front!

I quilted it with three rows of straight line quilting in each strip using matching thread.  I used metrosene thread from Mettler which I purchased from my LQS  - who is also my Bernina dealer. First time I had used that thread (had always used Mettler cotton quilting thread before) but it glided through my machine so well I would definitely choose it again.

Here it is draped over this old couch that my husband won't part with.  ;)  At least it brightens it up.

At  45.5 X 69  inches it is perfect for a nap on the couch.
