Late to the Party!

Hello to all my Paint Party Friday friends! I am late to the party this week - what can I say? Sometimes you just need a break or things get in the way. And so the best thing to do is take that little break. But better late than never as the saying goes.

I am not sure if this is completed or not. As I type this I am thinking it is not. I am taking the Festive Soul Food class at Community Thrive and this page was started as one of the lessons there from Guadalupe Brizuela Cabal.  I like the figure of the girl - but more needs to be added to complete the lesson.

So she stands as a work in progress for now.  And as another entry for 29 Faces.

And as far as 29 Faces goes - I love doing the faces but posting daily is a bit difficult for me, so I plan to just keep posting as I can for now.  ;)

Hope you are all having a great and creative weekend!

Paint Party Friday And More Faces

This face was inspired in part by Mystele and her free lesson with Festive Soul Food, as well as her recent lesson for The Documented Life Project.  This is a page in my art journal which started with a background, and then I saw this face there.  This was tons of fun to do!

I had paint left over so I created another one.   :)

Have a great and creative weekend!

29 Faces #6

Oil Pastel sketch with acrylic and colored pencil.

29 faces #5

29 Faces # 5.  Another fun, and quick oil pastel sketch with some acrylic paint added.

29 Faces #4

Another quick oil pastel sketch with the addition of acrylic paint.

29 Faces #3

A "quick" sketch with oil pastel which morphed into mixed media with acrylic and colored pencil.

29 Faces #2

Face #2. Acrylic and mixed media on graph paper. This one has lots of layers. Took a long time to get to point that I was satisfied with it.

29 Faces Starts Today!

29 Faces September 2015 edition starts today. It's hosted by the lovely Ayala Art. You can visit the 29 Faces blog here and see everyone who is joining in this challenge.  I don't know if I will be able to get all 29 faces done and blogged or not but it all sounds like a lot of fun!

So I am starting off today with this little cartoon-esque face in my art journal. Acrylic paint and mixed media.

Thanks for stopping by!
