Art Journal Page, Handmade Card and A Website Headache!

Hello to all my Paint Party Friday Friends! I hope you've been having a good week.  I completed this art journal page last week using watercolors, watercolor pencils, collage (some from Teesha Moore collage sheets) and penwork. I was just using leftovers from my collage folder - that was the challenge. Obviously influenced by Teesha.  ;)  Fun to do but my lettering needs work.

I did paint this accordion fold card for my Mom's birthday. (Happy Birthday Mom!) Acrylic and collage  with colored pencil and pen on watercolor paper. This is the card opened. There is a tag in a pocket and a little sheer fabric bag holding a gift card. I somehow I forgot to take a picture of the card closed - it has ribbon ties that wrap around to secure it.

I have spent most of my free time the last two to three weeks focusing on trying to set up a blog/website on Squarespace. It's a lovely platform but I have been having difficulty coming up with anything I like! ARRGH! So time consuming trying to learn a new platform and I kind of feel like I am just reinventing this site. I love Blogger but find myself wanting some features I can't get here. But after all this time working on a site with nothing finalized I am feeling tired and frustrated. I can't seem to get exactly what I want there either. Now I'm not sure if Squarespace is the right place for me.

So I am looking forward to surfing around and seeing what all of you are up to.  :)

Have you considered moving your blog or creating a website? How was that for you?

Here's hoping you have a relaxing and creative weekend!

  1. Beautiful card, never done an accordion one. Good luck with squarespace, I think I joined just so I could leave a comment on someone's blog. But haven't used it otherwise.

  9. What a great idea for a card that holds a gift card!!! I bet it looks beautiful closed with the ribbon in a bow. I want to go try and make something like this...well for the next occasion that needs a card, lol!!! I like your lettering and the perfect quote! I am not sure about Squarespace. Can you import this blog to another place? Have a great week! Hugs, Rasz

    3. Thank you for the info on the blog issue. I tried once but I could not do it and I do not want to loose everything in my blog. Good luck and I will keep checking back to see how you are doing with that. If I make the card, you will be the first to know!!! Hugs, Rasz

  10. I LOVE both pieces of work this week!! The Teesha Moore influence is so awesome in all it's whimsy... and the card stunning! I'm sure mom was thrilled!! I always worry about bloggers losing credibility they have built up when they move around on their blogs and change names. But things are changing so fast with tech it's hard to keep up anyway! The thing about blogger is it does keep up to tablets and androids...so many websites today are terrible on a tablet. Good luck with all of it!

    1. Thanks Giggles! I'm not sure if I will move or not - it's so time-consuming and frustrating trying to learn enough to see if I want to change. Blogger is so much more intuitive.
